General Information
Marlborough Aero Club was established by a group of aviation enthusiasts in the 1920’s who simply turned their dreams of flying into reality. We have a long and proud history of fulfilling flying ambitions by introducing people from all walks of life to professional and recreational flying. If you are interested in flying, getting your private or commercial pilot’s licence, experiencing the beautiful Marlborough scenery from the sky, or gaining ratings, new skills or hiring aircraft for current PPL/CPL holders – you can do all this at Marlborough Aero Club.
We are based in Blenheim at the heart of Marlborough – as the ‘sunshine capital’ of New Zealand we benefit from some of best flying conditions available. Marlborough is blessed with breathtaking countryside, stunning mountain ranges, glacial lakes and coastal areas, and surrounded by world famous vineyards.
As a not-for-profit Club, all proceeds are invested back into the Club for the enjoyment of members and guests.
All members of the Club are able to enjoy a range of social activities and privileges, including:
- Entry to annual competitions
- Weekly social events at the Club House
- Christmas cocktail party
- Privilege rates on landing fees and Club aircraft hire
- Club House and Flight Office facilities
